If you’re interested in anti-aging, one of the most talked-about topics lately is NAD.
NAD is synthesized from niacinamide, a precursor of B3 vitamin. It plays a role in the production of ATP, the most important energy carrier in human cells.
The more NAD we have in our bodies, the more resistant we are to aging. There is a 700/1 ratio between NAD and its reduced form, NADH, in our bodies. However, in this state of cellular youth, we become younger. The more we eat, the more this ratio will shift towards NADH for energy production, and thus, our bodies will transition from a state of youth to a state of aging. Therefore, eating less and exercising are important factors in maintaining our youth because they increase the NAD levels in the body.

So far, let’s remember what activates longevity genes the most:

Fasting. These genes are activated during fasting. When you consume a low-calorie diet, these genes are activated. Since the NAD state is the state where no food has been added, saying NAD means fasting. In other words, the main reason fasting extends life is that it increases NAD.

In fact, from insulin resistance to diabetes, Alzheimer’s to cancer, you can change your perspective on all the diseases you know are caused by weight and obesity to “NAD deficiency diseases.” The presence of NAD supports the cellular part of all repair, renewal, and anti-aging processes.

So, let’s list ways to increase NAD:
⦁ Space your meals 4 hours apart.
⦁ Avoid sugar and flour-based foods as much as possible.
⦁ Stock up on NAD by having an early dinner and fasting until the next morning.
⦁ Get rid of excess NADH through exercise. (I would like to note here as my personal suggestion that the 1-hour period after a meal is the time when NADH is highest. A light exercise like walking, dancing, etc., is very effective at this moment.)

-Tryptophan is one of the basic substances from which NAD is made, and it can be found in turkey, bananas, raw cacao, pumpkin seeds, and strawberries. The other is vitamin B3, also known as niacin. Niacin can be found in tuna, turkey, salmon, avocado, pistachios, eggs, and black rice. Eating a diet rich in these foods will help increase NAD levels.
In our clinic, we offer NAD therapy, which is one of the most popular and effective anti-aging treatments, administered intravenously, with sessions and frequency tailored to the patient’s needs.
